Nice, I'm glad to hear a heavier st-patty song. However, it kinda feels empty for most of the song, like it starts and has a progression but then always comes back to only a few instruments instead of building up. The samples are pretty weak as well but the actual composition is pretty good. I liked the flute break around 1:45. Good idea trying to go heavier but you could have had more conviction with your concept and make it more heavy. I still like the melodies very much so it's good stuff.

Great collab guys, the recordings are great except maybe the recordings, it's lacking a bit. The melodies, instruments and structures are very irish. I just don't like the mixing of the vocals, it's uneven and kinda distracting. The fake flute also stands out negativly next to a real guitar haha Lyrics are funny too, overall an excellent submission but some small fault preventing it to be perfect.

Even with weak samples you succeeded in creating a st-patty feeling with a wise choice of instrument and the right melodies. I like the little bends you do in the violin :) You only lose points for the sound quality, the actual composition is pretty great.

Although this one has the right intents, it failed on many level, the samples sound a bit fake which can be acceptable to a point, the melodies are often off key with weird notes and I could say almost out of tune sometimes, like in the very beginning and the structure is a bit weird. It still keeps a certain celtic aspect to it, regarding the instrument selection. But it has many faults that brings its score down.

Breed responds:

Not offkey but strange yeah. Its in mixolydian mode which has some strange harmonics that I wasnt able to get around very easy. Also its in 9/8 so the rhythm can be hard to follow too. Instruments are pretty bad but it's all I had. The melody in the beginning starts off horrible. Thats my main regret.

Although I find this to be a great composition, the samples are pretty weak and it doesn't ring celtic/irish/st-patty to me, more like generic RPG village stuff. But like I said great composition. But you lose the points on straying away from the contest's objectives.

LMAO

Perfect parody haha

Totally sounds like a megaman track haha! I could very well see this in a retro space game. I have a problem with some parts like the transition at the beginning and the arpeggio at 1:20 which are kinda badly timed and way too loud and they repeat somewhere else in the song. So it's a cool old school space game-ish song but it has some major flaws. But yeah still cool!

Totally not going for the epicness of space gaming, I can stil relate to this one a lot. Sounds more like credits music for a space game than the actual music but still cool. Very oldschool and bringing me back many years ago. It's only a shame that it's pretty short. You lose some points on the lack of gaming feel and complexity though.

I'm not good enough yet to portray how epic the vastness of space is in just a few channels, so I decided to write a simple, catchy waltz, which is something I can do. It should sound quite a bit like the intro/credits song to "Elite".

Glad it brought you back, and thanks for taking the time to judge the competition.

The samples and mix was pretty weak and it was pretty irritating in my ears. Setting that aside, I didn't feel the oldschoolness in it nor the space aspect of it, maybe too much techno-ish for me. I do have to give you credits for the complexity of the song. It could have been much better though and closer to the contest theme.

Not a big fan of the overall sound of this one. It does sound like space travelling but it failed to transport me back in my childhood and what those oldschool space games were about. The composition was good though. Props for the bridge at 0:14 :)
