Really nice slow progression but sadly you lose points on the weak samples, sounds like a midi track from the 90s haha That would have been pretty damn awesome recorded with real instruments or at least with decent samples. I love the composition but yeah, points lost on samples.

and yes, samples are always a weak point of my pieces...
but what do ya know, I'm poor, so I have to deal with what I have...

as for real instruments, I was out of time (and had some fuc*ing major issues with my violin)

That's a great song but a couple things turn me off when considering the theme of the contest. Alright, irish is celtic, I'll give you that, but a funny song about large lady hands doesn't do it for me haha But still, that's rather subjective and the song is sung and played pretty darn goshdarnit well! You should have had a better irish accent ;) Anyway, great one!

Awesomely celtic! But you do lose points on the quality of your samples, especially when it comes to sample repeats, the synth nature of the samples becomes way too apparent. Great composition with various segments, that's a good one, just not perfect.

Slightly celtic, sounds more like adventure-ish than celtic, mostly due to non celtic samples. Still a great composition, it just falls short on the contest's theme.

Overpowered mix and rather uninvolving. The melodies seem to go from A to Z within any kind of connection. The clap is pretty shitty as well. I'd say this is a pretty odd composition which doesn't make me fall in love with it or fall love in any way. The second half is better but the damage is already done and we're going forward in odd-land. From 2:15, it was pretty sweet though, if the song would have been built around a better progression, it could have worked a lot better. The ending doesn't save the song. Great effort though.

I like your critisism even if I don't be exactly in same opinion. :)

The melodies have some kind of connection to me, for instance. For response I will say the band Queen. How about them? :D

Man, this starts like every freaking wedding dance track. I see what you were going for but a lack of power and diversity made it fail, not a hard fail, just a little fail. The mix is a bit weak and some of the melodies are kinda off and weird. Still a pretty good attempt.

It's pretty original but the melodies and the mood of the song are pretty dark, almost depressing, I wouldn't say it brings feelings of love toward the song but like...holy crap I wanna kill myself with this song...so as good as the song is, I don't think it respects the contest theme very well.

The base track was pretty cool, vocals do add something to it. But it's more blues or something...doesn't sound too funky for me. Kudos for the effort on the tracks and vocals though, cool stuff!

I liked the use of brass in there. The bass lines and drum are cool but it wasn't super funky, almost reagea or something. I like the use of the "organ"

Awesome drums but the rest sounds like a random jam. Still, kudos for the real bass and guitars. I assume they are haha It is pretty funkay! Some things were off beat too here and there. Ending is....yeah...haha

Besides that, you are correct. It basically was a random jam due to time constraints (procrastination). Fortunately, it was a great basis for the latest SOLID version we have recorded.
