Scared....

Very cool dude! keep up the good work!

That's ass-kickingly badass!

I love the metal influences you added! it's fucking awesome!
I've heard this a long time ago, good thing you put it in here!
:)
peace

jarrydn responds:

Thanks bro, it was great fun to mix it up and re-record it with some rolls and double kicks.

Two part guitar harmonies in PoM2 plz :)

Hmmm fuck you? :P

Haha this is good dude, veerrrry good!
Just when I thought I was getting good, you destroy my illusions!
geez I feel like a newb!
do you mind sharing some tech info? what software and libs do you use? your brass tracks sounds neat and the strings too, the percussions too of course! Enlighten me man! :)
Cheers, keep up the good work

MaestroRage responds:

hello Evil-Dog

What an honor sir, to be reviewed by one like yourself ;). How could I possibly fathom not telling you my secrets!?

Nah, my life and tricks are an open book, ask and you shall recieve.

The Sequencer and Host I use are Fruity Studio's 6.0.4. I could upgrade to 7, but really, they didn't add anything I find worth upgrading too, and I don't want to risk messing anything up as is, so I left it as is.

The libraries I use are
East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold + PRO expansion (this song was 95% made with just this!)
East West Symphonic Choirs
East West Collossus
East West RA
Drum Kit From Hell 2 (last 15 or so seconds perc beat addition was this)

The last 3 didn't have diddily squat for the piece, but there you have it. I pretty much used all the percussion available under Symphonic Orchestra.

All strings, and brass are also part of this library.

I hope that helps, let me know if you want to know anything else, i'll pretend I know the answer :D... unless I actually know the answer, then you'll know.

OH, for Equalizing I use Izotope Ozone 3. Brilliant lil program, but a steep learning curve for those who have little equalizing experience (ie me... took me a while to learn how to use it)

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it! And the only illusion I broke is the illusion you'd win this contest easily >:}. Get back to the forge, and grant us divine audio my good sir! DIVINE!

Very cool dude :)

Very inspirational! I've never heard your stuff before, I'll make sure to follow your progress!

MusicalRocky responds:

Hey :)

Inspirational, eh? thanks man. I'm glad you discovered me haha.

Thanks for the encouraging words.

Rocky

It had potential dude!

Next time you better take the time to record the tracks tightly and mix it correctly and balance the instruments or I'll kick your ass back to the shire! (huh? haha)
Keep up the good work :D

Scribbler responds:

Yeah man, in retrospect, this song was too slow. I need to re-record with a faster tempo and I really need to make it tighter, like you said. I either make the drums too quiet or the guitars too loud. I need to really equalize everything.

Thanks for the honest review!

Pretty cool

I would definitly tone down the legatos in the first part
sounds very RPG-ish
when the snares comes in it's pretty cool
keep up the good work

Bosa responds:

Alright, thank you for the advice.

Badass!

I love it :D
the mood is really cool, it's dark and progressive! keep up the good stuff man, can't wait for round 3, or another kind of collab
the loop could have been better though :)
later dude

Rawk!

Nice guys! I love it!
especially the vocals (and especially the back vocals) hehe keep up the good work

Could be better!

No review huh? I'll leave one! hehe
I really like the idea of this little piece...I wouldn't call it music but it's a cool ambience.
I have a couple critics though, first of all it's saturating and distortioning you know, when you make music it should never clip (red zone) then you can add a compressor to make it sound louder without clipping. Also I would have made the progression longer and slower and add some dark choirs slowly coming in or something, that's just my 2 cents though hehehe
keep up the cool stuff

RedHotPoker responds:

Thanks man. This is from like ages ago and frankly when the redesign comes around this sucker is getting deleted. Thanks for the review man your music is immense.

Shit man!

Silent hill style again! damn this is stressful music! Awesome! I love it! one constructive comment would be to work on the mastering, cause it kinda sounds muffled, maybe that's volontary though!
Very nice work!

RedHotPoker responds:

I love it when people say things like stressfull and the like. It gives me a huge high to think my music can scare people.

Ye the mufflednes was sort of volentary but when i compressed it, it became worse and now somethings are bearly hearable. Oh well.

Thanks for the review.
